Frequently Asked Questions 
 
What is the Refund Policy?
Refunds are issued in the method fees were paid, either by check (once check has cleared) or credited to your account within 6 weeks of refund request.
Withdrawal More than 1 Week Before the First Class:
Full refund of course tuition fee, less a $10 service charge. 
Withdrawal Less than 1 Week Before the First Class:
Refund equal to 50% of the tuition less a $10 service.

One Day Classes: No Refund

Textbook/Material/Supply Fees: Non-refundable.

Is Financial Aid Available?
Yes, Federal Pell grants and other forms of aid are available to those who qualify; which is determined by the federal government based on the person’s previous year W2. It is only available for programs that are 600 hours or longer.
 
Are Career Assessments and Counseling Available?
CVCC has a trained career counselor who can provide career assessments by appointment and follow up evaluations with the customer. There is a fee for this service. Appointments can be made through Adult Education. Additionally each coordinator will provide informal guidance in regard to their own program area for any customer who requests a personal appointment.
            
Is Job Placement Assistance Provided? 
Beginning this year we will have services available to students in the career development programs. They will include interview skills, resume writing and job search techniques.
 
What Credentials or Certifications Are Received Upon Program Completion?
CVCC is not a credit granting institution however, we have articulation agreements in place with degree granting institutions who do give students credit for some of the work they complete if applying it toward a degree in the same field. Career Development programs have an industry credential that students acquire after completion of the program and an industry exam.
These programs include: 
EMT 
Firefighter
Nursing 
Dental Assisting 
STNA (State Tested Nurse Aid) 
Cosmetology 
 
Career Enhancement programs prepare students to acquire or advance skills and prepare for entry level positions, such as the graphic design, automotive, industrial electric and machine trades programs. These courses do not have an industry credential offered upon completion. The students do get a certification from CVCC for completing the programs. 
 
Are Discounts Available for Senior Citizens? 
Discounts are given for District Resident Seniors only, there are No Free classes. Required age is 60 years or older.  
 
What is Considered a District Resident?
District residentsare members of the 8 districts we serve who pay taxes to those school systems. (Brecksville/Broadview Hts., Cuyahoga Hts., Garfield Hts., Independence, Nordonia Hills, North Royalton, Revere and Twinsburg).
All others are Non-District residents and pay an additional $10.00 for most classes.
 
When are Cosmetology Salon Services Offered?
Cosmetology Salon Services are offered in the evenings and some Saturdays by the adult students. Call 440-746-8145 for an appointment. 
      
Are GED/ESOL Classes Available? 
Basic Literacy / GED / ESOL classes are available at CVCC. Classes are free but you must call 440-572-6596 to register. 
 
Is Customized Training Available?     
Customized Training is provided to any company who has a specific need for training and is interested in contracting with CVCC’s Business Academy. Rich Haines coordinates all requests. Training can be provided at CVCC or at the company’s facility. We offer a full range of services from technology, foreign languages, architectural design, and business management to employee wellness programs. We specialize it ISO Quality Systems.
